Frequently asked questions about islands and ferries
Should I book ferry tickets in advance?
Yes, especially in high season (March to September) and for the Perhentians. Boats have limited capacity and weekend departures often sell out. Book as soon as your dates are set.
How do I get to the Perhentians from Kuala Lumpur?
It happens in two legs: drive to Kuala Besut (about 7 hours, doable by private car) then a speedboat to the island (30 to 45 minutes). We can arrange both.
Do ferries run all year round?
No. The monsoon closes some routes: the Perhentians and Redang are generally unreachable from November to February, while Langkawi is served all year.
Can I bring luggage on the boat?
Yes, luggage travels with you. On speedboats it is usually stored at the back or on the roof and handled by the crew. Bring a waterproof cover for sea crossings.
Do you provide the transfer to the departure port?
Yes. We gladly combine road and sea: private vehicle from your hotel to the jetty, then the boat ticket. One quote, one confirmation.
