Private car with driver in Kuala Lumpur
Car with driver by the half day or full day, plus private transfers to the rest of Malaysia. Priced per vehicle, never per person.
Hiring a car with a driver in Kuala Lumpur solves a specific problem: not driving yourself in left-hand traffic, on fast roads where motorcycles filter between lanes, while keeping the freedom to stop where you want. It differs from a simple transfer (airport to hotel) and from a street taxi: the vehicle and driver stay at your disposal for the whole booked period.
The rates below are what we actually sell, not an indicative grid: they come from our car-with-driver catalogue and our intercity routes. They are per vehicle, driver, fuel and basic insurance included, which changes everything for a group or a family — four people in a sedan pay for a sedan, not four tickets.
Understand this before booking: in Kuala Lumpur the standard driver day is 10 hours (half day: 4 hours). Extra time is charged hourly at the rate in the table. For an intercity trip the logic is reversed — it is a flat rate per destination, not a duration.
How to choose your driver
Passengers and luggage decide the vehicle
A sedan suits 1-3 people with standard luggage. For 4 people with large suitcases a SUV is more comfortable. The Alphard (6 seats) is the family choice and the best option for airport transfers with children. 10 and 16-seat vans serve groups; note that a 16-seater cannot reach every narrow lane in some neighbourhoods.
Half day or full day
4 hours covers an airport transfer, a Batu Caves visit or an administrative appointment. The 10-hour day is right for a KL + Putrajaya circuit, a Malacca day trip or a day with unplanned stops. Between the two, compare: two half days almost always cost more than one full day.
English or French speaking driver
Drivers work in English; some speak French and are booked first for families with children or administrative appointments. State it in your quote request — there is no surcharge, but availability is limited and must be booked ahead.
Private driver or Grab: what changes
Grab is cheaper for a single hop (RM 12-25 inside KL) but you do not choose the vehicle, you do not keep the driver for the day, and you must re-order at every stop. A private driver pays off from three trips in a day, or as soon as the itinerary must stay flexible.
What a quote must state
A serious quote lists: the exact vehicle model, the duration (4 h or 10 h), the pickup point, whether tolls and parking are included, and whether the driver waits between stops. A headline price without those four items usually hides surcharges on the day.

How to book
- 1
Describe the trip
Dates, pickup time, exact address (hotel or airport with terminal) and number of passengers with luggage. A free-text address beats a dropdown: KL hotels and residences change names often.
- 2
Choose vehicle and duration
The quote is per vehicle, not per person. If you hesitate between half day and full day, send your programme: we work out which is cheaper.
- 3
Confirm by WhatsApp
Confirmation arrives by WhatsApp with the driver name and vehicle number the day before departure. No sign-up or account: a short form is enough.
- 4
Pay online or on board
Secure online payment locks in the vehicle; paying the driver remains possible on request. Time changes are accepted free of charge up to 24 h before.
